Apache Cassandra Spark Connector (Cassandra Scala driver)

This page describes compatibility between the Apache Cassandra Spark Connector and DataStax Enterprise (DSE), Hyper-Converged Database (HCD), Astra DB, and open-source Apache Cassandra®. The Spark Connector is also known as the Cassandra Scala driver.

Apache Cassandra Spark Connector ownership

Following version 3.5.1, the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) maintains the Spark Connector (cassandra-spark-connector) Latest cassandra-spark-connector release on GitHub. Prior versions were maintained by DataStax.

For version 3.5.1 and earlier, the package groupId is com.datastax.spark. This can change in later releases.

Apache Cassandra Spark Connector compatibility

In addition to open-source Apache Cassandra, the Spark Connector is compatible with Astra DB, DSE, and HCD.

Support for the Apache Cassandra 5.x built-in vector type is available in versions 3.5.1 and later.

Use the Spark Connector to connect to your DSE, HCD, Astra DB, and open-source Cassandra databases with Apache Spark™.
